Simone Biles
Simone Biles is an American gymnast. Born March 14, 1997 in Columbus Ohio U.S.A. In the 2016 Olympics held in Rio de Janeiro she became the first female U.S. gymnast to win four gold medals in a single Games and she was the first gymnast to earn three consecutive all-around world championships (2013-15). Biles together with her siblings Adria Biles and Ronald Biles were adopted as children by the grandparents from Houston. Simone was interested in the sport of gymnastics as a young girl when she took a field trip for day care in Bannon's Gymnastix and stayed there for eleven years under the guidance of her coach Aimee Boorman. Biles was awarded the gold and bronze medals in the women's Junior Olympic National Championships 2010 in floor and vault prior to her first appearance in 2011 with the elite section of the competition. She was the most dominant in her sport within a mere two years. Biles made headlines by her consistent performance, her enthusiastic attitude as well as the amount of effort she introduced throughout each competition--vault bars that were uneven, balance beam and ground work.
